  2. Problem-based learning (PBL) is a student-centered instructional strategy in which students collaboratively solve problems and reflect on their experiences. It was pioneered and used extensively at McMaster University in Canada.
PBL is based on the educational theories of Vygotsky, Dewey, and others, and is related to social-cultural and constructivist theories of learning and instructional design.
    Characteristics of PBL are:
Learning is driven by challenging, open-ended, ill-defined and ill-structured problems.
Students generally work in collaborative groups.
Teachers take on the role as "facilitators" of learning.

  3. Students need to understand the flow and process for the PBL . Skill such as to ask the right questions will help the PBL in the T&L process. The PBL will enhance the team-dynamic in the group presentation at the end of the session.
